This is Port Coogee, a vibrant coastal community and world-class marina, just a 5km drive from the bustling city of Fremantle.
With so many places to relax and play – from the park at the end of your street to the fun waterplay park down by the beach – outdoor recreation and healthy living is easy.
You’ll find plenty of opportunities to connect with family, friends and the community, with attractive landscaped barbecue areas and shaded picnic tables along the foreshore, inviting you to settle in and watch the sun go down. An extensive network of pathways and calmed streets encourage walking and cycling, where you’ll come across public art that reflects the unique history of the area.
Dual-use cycle and walking paths connect homes with local parks, the shopping centre and the beach. If you’re lucky enough to be heading out to sea, the marina offers direct boating access to Rottnest and Garden Islands, and even Fremantle.
For access to Perth there is a range of transport options available, including the Transperth Bus 825 that runs through Port Coogee and gives you a direct link to Rockingham and Fremantle, and the train – either from Fremantle or from Cockburn Central, on the Perth-Mandurah line. By car, there’s easy access to major arterial roads to get you anywhere you need to be, including Cockburn Road, Spearwood Avenue, Stock Road, South Street, Beeliar Drive and the Kwinana Freeway.
On the waterfront are barbecues and picnic areas – even a fishing platform for throwing a line in at sunset.
Just next door to Port Coogee is the stunning Coogee Beach and Woodman Point, and when playtime is over, there are a number of education facilities within easy reach, including two high schools and six primary schools within five kilometres.
A five-minute drive away is Fremantle, with its wide variety of eclectic and unique retail and market outlets, while less than 20 minutes away is Cockburn Gateway Shopping Centre, where over 150 stores offer the most ardent of shoppers with genuine retail therapy!
